The honest maths: the change adds about ₹5,900 per person to a short trip — real money for a family, but rarely decisive against Thailand's low ground costs and cheap flights. Two practical rules: carry the VoA fee in Thai baht cash (the counter takes nothing else), and complete the free TDAC online within 72 hours of flying — airlines can deny boarding without it.
